Mazovian Variety Fair in CH Blue City

For the eighth time, there will be a Social Economy Fair in Warsaw, where social economy entities will present their products and services: social cooperatives, occupational therapy workshops, social integration centers, foundations and associations.

The fair, organized under the name “Mazovian Variety Fair”, hides an unusual fair event, which for several years – in early December – can be visited in the Blue City shopping center in Warsaw. They are a great opportunity to meet interesting people, talk about what social business is all about and do some Christmas shopping. In the offer: original handicrafts made by the hands of seniors and people with disabilities, as well as traditional dishes of regional Mazovian cuisine. And all this, prepared to promote this socially important sector, which is the social economy. The event is organized by the Mazovian Center for Social Policy, which this year is held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship – Adam Struzik.

Independently of the market town functioning on level – 1, the “Helios” cinema located on the fourth level of the Blue City Shopping Center will host entrepreneurship lessons on December 1 this year, from 10 am to 2 pm, which will be attended by more than 600 Warsaw high school students. The purpose of these lessons, which will be conducted in a workshop format, is to increase young people’s entrepreneurial competence and pro-social attitudes. Young people will also have the opportunity to see and “taste” the social economy live by visiting the Social Economy Fair at the bottom of the shopping mall.

During the event, the “Mazovian Social Economy Brand” awards will also be given to the best in 2023 – enterprises, individuals and institutions working for social economy in Mazovia. This year’s edition of this competition, whose initiator and organizer are the Local Government of the Mazovian Voivodeship, includes 6 competition categories: “Development”, “Reintegration”, “Responsibility”, “Personality, “Discovery” and “Super Brand”. This year, the competition chapter awarded a total of 19 such awards.

The Mazovian Social Economy Brand is awarded to entities that provide high-quality social products and services and work for local development, restoring dignity and economic independence to people who are excluded or at risk of social exclusion. This includes social enterprises, social cooperatives, occupational therapy workshops, social integration centers, NGOs, as well as representatives of local governments.

For the first time ever, this year, the “Mazovian Variety Fair” will be open for two days, December 1 and 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The organizers of the Fair treat it as a celebration of social economy in Mazovia, during which they want to show that the word “human” can sound proud and that in business it is not only profit that matters, but also people!
